Drake Maye can add another honor to the shelf.
The New England Patriots quarterback has been selected to the Pro Football Writers of America’s 2025 All-AFC team, the organization announced Monday.
Maye,
23, went 354-of-492 passing for 4,394 yards with 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions in the regular season for the 14-3 AFC East champions. Starting all 17 games, the sophomore completed an NFL-best 72 percent of his throws. He also led the league with 8.9 yards per attempt, 7.8 net yards per attempt and a 113.5 passer rating, plus expected points added per play and completion percentage over expectation.
The North Carolina product added 450 yards and four touchdowns as a rusher.
In December, Maye was voted to the Pro Bowl after previously getting the call as a rookie alternate. And last week, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft earned second-team All-Pro honors from the Associated Press along with cornerback, punt returner and fellow Patriots captain Marcus Jones.
No member of the roster in Foxborough secured a spot on the latest PFWA All-NFL team. Special teams ace Brenden Schooler had been an All-AFC and All-NFL selection last campaign. The PFWA has selected an All-NFL team since 1966, and All-AFC and All-NFC teams since 1992.
On the heels of a 28-16 win over the Houston Texans in the divisional round at Gillette Stadium, head coach Mike Vrabel’s No. 2 seed will move on to face the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.
Kickoff at Mile High’s Empower Field is set for 3 p.m. ET next Sunday.
