Football:
CBSSports latest College Football Playoff bracket projections would have FSU hosting Texas A&M with the winner projected to face a familiar foe for both schools.
7. Florida State With Clemson not even on the playoff bubble any longer after a 1-2 start, the Seminoles have ascended to top threat position in the conference behind Miami early this season. Florida State plays the Hurricanes on Oct. 4 and should be unbeaten when that one comes around if the Seminoles are able to beat Kent State and Virginia
over the next two weeks. Tommy Castellanos has been electric at quarterback, and Tony White’s defense has played well through eight quarters..
If that projection is accurate that would be the first time Florida State & Texas A&M has ever played each other.
Mike Norvell likes the health and the focus of his team coming out of the bye week.
The depth chart has been released for week 4 with the only notable changes coming on special teams.
ESPN has FSU at No. 8 in their power rankings that is not FPI.
New defensive coordinator Tony White moved Little to the rover safety position, and it feels tailor-made for him. Little leads Florida State with 11 tackles, including a sack, and his physicality has set the tone. Perhaps White summed it up best when he recently said, “He is trying to hit somebody’s soul out of their body.” — Adelson
Speaking of Tony White you can catch him, Coach Norvell, and Jerry Wilson tonight at 6pm on the Unconquered app:
According to ESPN’s Bill Connelly FSU has the 10th-best chance to remain undefeated among 39 undefeated teams but that’s because early season analytics still have much of 2024’s data in their formulas; according to him the ‘Noles pass the eye test.
Recruiting:
Four-star WR FSU commit Devin Carter returned from injury vs. Buford and he looks explosive:
Following their decommitments from UCLA in the wake of Deshaun Foster’s firing; FSU will be turning up the heat on two recruits: Four-star OT Johnnie Jones from Venice, Florida and Three-star DL Yahya Gaad from Medina, Tenneessee.
I think Gaad is the better prospect of the two right now while Jones has some work to do on the floor side he has the ideal frame for an offensive tackle.
All Sports:
FSU Soccer shutout Syracuse 4-0; it’s their six shutout in seven total games played; basically if FSU scores they win. That’s how good the defense has been.
Will certainly be a much busier in Tallahassee this week compared to last:
Volleyball got the victory vs. Georgia State last night:
One month until FSU Women’s Hoops plays its first exhibition game against Alabama:
