While the Mets’ 2026 season was a complete and utter failure, we’d once again like to express our gratitude to all of our contributors, readers, commenters, and moderators here at Amazin’ Avenue for your time, attention, and support in spite of the what was happening on the field. We simply couldn’t and wouldn’t do everything that we do here at the site without all of you.
When it comes to the efforts of our contributors, as you may already know, Amazin’ Avenue isn’t anyone’s day job. The collective
effort—to recap every one of the Mets’ 162 games, summarize every day of minor league action in our daily prospect reports, gather as many links as we possible could for Mets Morning News, and write up as much Mets news and analysis as we could possibly handle—was immense. And I think I can speak for everyone involved in saying that we do this because we like to do it and share our words with each other and with all of you.
When it comes to community participation, over the past year-and-change, SB Nation rolled out two things intended to keep the conversation among all of us rolling: The Feed and the SB Nation app. If you’re using the latter, we encourage you to join the MLB community there, especially in a postseason that will not feature the Mets.
When it comes to community participation, the Amazin’ Avenue Offseason Plan Contest will happen once again, starting shortly after the World Series ends. The big change this year is that we’re no longer doling out physical prizes. We’ll still handle everything else the way we have in the past, and there will still be a champion.
Last but not least, we’re always open to feedback. What were your favorite things that you read on the site this year? Are there types of things you’d like to see more often on the site? How would you like to see The Feed used? Maybe we’ll get some baseball-adjacent community discussions going in there over the offseason while we wait—however long a period of time that might be—for the return of Mets baseball.
