Every season, teams across the NHL host promotional nights offering free giveaways to help drive fan interest to purchase tickets. This season will be no different, and last week, the Penguins announced their promotional giveaway schedule for 2026-27 that features an array of different items to be handed away at various points throughout the season.
In an effort to break it down and help our readers make a choice if they wish to pick a game a grab one of these free giveaways we selected a few of the best
on the schedule this season and discussed them below.
Magnetic Schedule
When: Saturday, October 3rd v. Montreal (Home Opener)
Limit: All Fans in attendance
This is a classic giveaway that most teams dole out at the beginning of every season. Home openers are generally well attended with or without a giveaway, but having a magnetic schedule to post on your refrigerator to check quickly before heading out the door to work is a nice bonus.

Iceburgh Building Blocks Set
When: Saturday, October 24th v. Nashville
Limit: First 7,500 fans
People love LEGOs, and although this is not a LEGO designed product, fans should still go home happy with this keepsake of the beloved Penguins mascot. This giveaway is limited to the first 7,500 fans through the gates, and with this game coming on a Saturday, they are sure to go quick.

Kids Trick-or-Treat Tote
When: Thursday, October 29th v. Utah
Limit: First 5,000 fans 14 & under
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year meaning most community Trick-or-Treat nights will be packed with kids of all ages out in search of candy from the neighbors. While this bag isn’t a traditional Halloween candy bucket, it’s sure to still get the job done when going door-to-door.

Mike Lange Catchphrase Alarm Clock
When: Saturday, December 5th v. New Jersey
Limit: First 7,500 fans
Of all the promotional giveaway this season from the Penguins, this one might just take the cake as they very best. Imagine being in a deep sleep only to be awakened by a loud “SCRATCH MY BACK WITH A HACKSAW” in the early hours of the morning. There is no better way to start your day.

60th Anniversary Poster
When: Friday, December 18th v. Seattle
Limit: All fans in attendance
It hasn’t been heavily advertised to this point, but 2026-27 in the Penguins 60th anniversary season as an NHL franchise. That milestone will be celebrated on December 18th with a special poster that features minimalist versions of some franchise legends as well as the famed Mellon Arena.

Evgeni Malkin Talking Bobblehead
When: Saturday, January 23rd v. Vancouver
Limit: First 7,500 fans
You can put this item right up there with the Mike Lange Alarm Clock in terms of best promotional giveaways. Geno is always good for a one liner and this is best way to celebrate that charm. It’s pretty wild seeing this if you can remember just how rough his English was when he first entered the league.

2017 Commemorative Championship Ring
When: Sunday, January 31st v. Philadelphia
Limit: All fans in attendance
Hard to believe its almost been a decade since the Penguins last Stanley Cup, and the Penguins are set to honor that 2017 team on January 31st against the Flyers. For fans in attendance, this will be their best shot at ever getting a Stanley Cup ring at any point so get your tickets while you can.

Iceburgh Loaf Pan
When: Thursday, February 25th v. Toronto
Limit: First 7,500 fans
Eating a cake in the shape of Iceburgh? Count me in. It’s the perfcect combination of things I love and hold dear, Penguins hockey and food. A real winner.
Rating: 8.0/10
Those are just a sampling of the giveaways the Penguins will be having this season, with a few items still to be fully unveiled at a later date, including a kitchen apron and an Evgeni Malkin Coffee Table Book to name a few. In total, there are 16 giveaway on the calendar for this season, giving fans plenty of chances to snag a free collectible if they head down to PPG Paints Arena for a game.
