There is so much to like about Victor Wembanyama. Aside from his generational talent, he’s shown maturity beyond his years. Wemby, an avid reader, can often be seen carting around a copy of one Brandon Sanderson novel or another. He also shown a penchant toward chess, inviting New Yorkers to meet up and eventually hosting a competition.
He’s accepted his role as a leader on the team while appreciating each player’s contribution. He’s embraced San Antonio and designed his own fanbase — The Jackals,
a rowdy group who bring fervor and energy to the Frost Bank Center.
At the core of it all, Wemby is a good person, kind and conscientious, and a wonderful asset to San Antonio and Spurs culture. An excellent pairing of a superstar and a franchise.
Today, Wemby celebrates his 22nd birthday. No telling how he is celebrating, but there’s bound to be a bass drum and some rowdiness ensuing.
