Bayern Munich have a gem of player in their squad. Michael Olise is one of the top wingers in the game at the moment. Following an amazing debut season with Bayern, Olise is now knocking on the doors of the greats of the game. With 18 assists in the Bundesliga, Olise is nearing the assist record currently held by two legends, Thomas Müller and Lionel Messi.
The wizard of Bavaria
An engine of creativity at Bayern Munich, Olise has proven to be unstoppable on the pitch. His dribbles, vision, control are a wonder to watch.
He added his 18th assist in the league this season against SC Freiburg. Olise assisted Bischof’s equalizer to keep the Bavarians in the game.
With six games remaining in the league, Olise has a good chance to break the record for most assist in a season in the Top 5 leagues in Europe. The record is 21 and is currently held jointly by Barcelona’s footballing wizard Lionel Messi and Bayern’s very own Raumdeuter Thomas Müller.
As the peak phase of the season approaches, injury concerns do take higher priority and rotations are to be expected more often. So, Olise could be rested in some of the upcoming games in the league. Nonetheless, his penchant to create chances as seen with his 72 chances (Squawka) in the league so far, should ensure that he has a healthy chance to break the record.
