Throughout this offseason, one of the biggest talking points surrounding Kentucky Basketball is whether Malachi Moreno will take the leap Kentucky hopes for heading into his sophomore season.
Moreno truly considered the NBA, with his name mentioned in the first rounds of mock drafts and selected by many teams in the first round before ultimately coming back to his Old Kentucky home.
Nowadays, a big part of the decision process for a player like Moreno is the money. In the current NIL landscape, the money talks,
and with an up-and-coming star like himself, he deserved to be paid well, and even though we don’t know how much, we know he was certainly paid well.
Once the checks clear and these players get their NIL money, it’s up to them and their circle how they choose to use it, and Moreno decided to use it in one of the best ways imaginable: Surprising his mom, Sarah, with a brand-new car!
On Tuesday, Moreno and his older brother were able to contact Paul Miller Mazda and get their mom hooked up with a brand-new 2026 CX-70.
We all have high hopes for Moreno as he steps into year two at Kentucky, but off the court, we love to see these athletes be great young men as well. Now, Moreno is giving back to the special woman who helped raise him into the man that he is today.
