TCU infielder Cole Cramer delivered several clutch hits for the Horned Frogs during the 2025 season. After transferring in from Washington State, Cramer led the team with 59 starts, making 46 at second base. The former Cougar slashed .320/.433/.419 with 71 hits and 43 RBIs in his first season as a Horned Frog. Back for 2026 as a graduate student, Cramer is one of several impact infielders who will be back in the TCU lineup this spring.
Junior infielder Jack Bell displayed his power in his first season
with TCU last year. A transfer from Texas A&M, Bell made 39 starts, including 28 at third base, slashing .259/.376/.453 with six doubles, three triples, five home runs and 31 RBIs. The Horned Frogs will be looking for a new starter at shortstop, where All-Big 12 player and MLB Draft selection Anthony Silva thrived over the last three years. TCU will also need a new first baseman to replace Isaac Cadena, who made 20 starts there, and All-Big 12 player Karson Bowen, who also made 20 starts at the position. Bowen transferred to Florida after three years at TCU, while Cadena graduated from the roster.
Colton Griffin returns as a key upperclassmen for the Horned Frogs. A junior and former Stephen F. Austin transfer, Griffin made 25 starts at third base and slashed .266/.381/.415 with 25 hits and six stolen bases in his first season with TCU. The Horned Frogs have brought in three veteran transfers who will compete for time on the infield. One of those is former Incarnate Word first baseman Rob Liddington, an All-Southland First Team player who was a career .332 hitter with 93 hits, 17 doubles, 17 home runs and 62 RBIs over 76 appearances. A graduate transfer, Liddington spent two years at Incarnate Word and two years at the junior college level.
Another graduate transfer to watch will be Lane Hutchinson, who arrives after posting an incredible .403 average at Division II Angelo State. A utility infielder for the Rams, Hutchinson has worked his way up to the Division I level, having spent two years in junior college and two years at Division II UT-Tyler before transferring to Angelo State. TCU has also brought in Kentucky transfer Kyuss Gargett, another utility infielder who spent two years with the Wildcats and was a part of the 2024 College World Series roster. A junior, Gargett is a career .243 hitter with 28 hits, four doubles, two home runs and 18 RBIs with eight stolen. bases.
Moving away from the transfer portal, senior Preston Gamster and freshman Lucas Franco round out TCU’s infield roster. Gamster earned six starts and played in 15 games last season, notching four hits in 27 at-bats. Franco ranked in the top 75 prospects among various publications leading up to the 2025 MLB Draft and was the No. 5 overall prospect in the state of Texas by Perfect Game. Franco, who attended the 2025 MLB Draft Combine.
Behind the plate, TCU brings back sophomore Nolan Traeger, who won the starting job last season and turned in an outstanding freshman season. Traeger earned Freshman All-American honors and slashed .327/.429/.472 with 52 hits and 17 RBIs. To add depth, TCU signed Washington transfer Colin Blanchard, a redshirt senior and a strong defensive catcher who had a .987 fielding percentage in four seasons with the Huskies. Rounding out the depth chart will be freshman Brady Dallimore, who ranked No. 194 on Baseball America’s Top 500 prospects for the 2025 MLB Draft. Dallimore was Prep Baseball’s National Player of the Month in March of his senior year.
