The 2026 NBA Trade Deadline has passed. Dozens of moves were made in the last 48 hours, including trades for high-profile players like James Harden, Jaren Jackson Jr., Bennedict Mathurin, and Ivaca Zubac.
The Portland Trail Blazers remained fairly quiet during the proceedings, trading injured center Duop Reath (subsequently waived) to the Atlanta Hawks for guard Vit Krejci.
Some of our readers have expressed disappointment in these developments, others relief. Most seem to be somewhere in the middle.
But our opinion of Portland’s moves (or lack thereof) are probably secondary to the real question at hand.
After a couple years of rebuilding, the Blazers have been telegraphing that they intend to strive for playoffs contention now (or at least in the very near future) and that they have the players to get it done. In short, at least as much as is possible, they believe in this team.
The question is, do you?
If Portland’s relative lack of motion and changes at the deadline does indicate confidence in this roster, are you on board? If so, why? If not, what (and how much) do you think needs to be done before the confidence is justified?
This is a critical question facing Blazers fans as the deadline expires. Share your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below.
And hey, if you’re able, please consider donating tickets to help local Portland kids in need see the Blazers play in March through our annual charity event. Get all the details here! Thanks!
