The No. 18 ranked TCU volleyball team tipped off the 2026 season with a ranked matchup against No. 2 Texas at the Players Era Volleyball Showcase in Las Vegas. Jalyn Gibson returned from an ACL injury suffered last year and hit .375 to aid the attack in a narrow 28-30, 23-25, 23-25 defeat. Gibson posted eight kills and eight digs, while Evan Hendrix led the offense with 12 kills. Becca Kelley followed with 10 kills in the three-set loss.
Rosemary Archer delivered a double-double from the setter spot, sending out 28 assists with 11 digs on defense. Alice Volpe led the back-row defense with 16 digs for the Horned Frogs, who were held to a .124 hitting rate in the loss. Kinsley Young had a team-best seven blocks from the middle position, where Reese Robins chipped in four kills on a .286 hitting rate. Reese Wilburn played two sets and recorded five assists for the TCU attack.
