I’m not a kid anymore, but if I wanted someone to read me a bedtime story it would be Dame Helen Mirren.
Her voice has a calm, soothing, yet commanding British accent that has delivered some of the best dialogue in cinema history throughout her 60-year acting career. And that’s why it was a welcomed sound to hear the Oscar winner narrate a nice promo video for Conor Benn ahead of his much-anticipated title fight against Ryan Garcia later TONIGHT (Sat., Sept. 12, 2026) in Las Vegas, Nevada, which focuses
on his rise in the sport as he attempts to make a name for himself to escape his father’s, Nigel Benn, shadow.
Of course, Mirren, as is the rest of the British community, is hoping that “The Destroyer” can defeat “King Ry” and take the WBC Welterweight title home with him, in doing so he would join his father, Nigel Benn, as a WBC champion.
With a win, Benn would also bring another major world title to Zuffa Boxing, joining Jai Opetaia, who is also competing on the card and will be putting up his Zuffa and The Ring Cruiserweight titles against WBC Cruiserweight king, Noel Mikaelian.
