Brendan Allen vs. Christian Leroy Duncan squared off in a Middleweight bout earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 10, 2026) inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada for UFC Vegas 122. After a competitive scrap, Allen found a submission very late in the fight.
There was no feeling-out process to start this fight! Both men were firing from the first bell, and then the fight moved into the clinch. “CLD” shoved Allen into the fence and punched the body repeatedly. With plenty of time to work, Allen landed a takedown
and immediately started attacking the neck. It was sketchy, but Duncan managed to scramble back up the fence.
Allen stayed on the clinch but couldn’t drag his foe back to the floor. Duncan went back to work with close range punches in the clinch. Back in the open, the two traded heavy elbows, then Duncan cracked him with a spinning elbow! The two traded shots to the bell, closing off a competitive opening frame.
The second round began with a “CLD” eye poke and immediate point deduction. On the restart, Duncan landed some clean power punches and a nice knee to the mid-section. Having found his range, the English striker was sticking and moving well. Allen moved into the clinch and entered well on a takedown, putting Duncan on the canvas in the middle of the Octagon. He advanced towards the back and then attacked an arm triangle. He used that threat to move further onto the back.
It was a strong second round for the veteran contender.
Allen stormed out of the gate with an immediate takedown, tried to jump the back, and wound up on bottom position right away. Duncan tried to take the back and wound up reversed himself. His insistence on grappling was costing him terribly. Allen settled into closed guard and landed short strikes. With 90 seconds remaining, Duncan was able to scramble into top position. He landed in half guard and landed some decent shots before the bell.
It was a strange third round.
Duncan finally tried to maintain distance early in the fourth, but Allen pressured forward and landed a heavy left hook. Duncan landed a nice body kick and left hand. Duncan scored a couple elbows on his pressuring foe, but Allen built combinations and touched the body. An Allen right hand found the mark and spun Duncan around. Duncan started finding the mark more often with straight punches of his own, throwing a lot more strikes than his foe by the end of the fourth.
With five minutes remaining, the fight was still up for grabs.
The kickboxing continued into the final frame. Duncan flowed well, hitting the body often before a wheel kick nearly landed flush. Allen went hard for a double leg takedown and was eventually able to drag his foe to the floor. Suddenly, Allen was attacking the neck with a tight rear naked choke! Duncan scrambled frantically but couldn’t create any space — he was forced to tap while losing consciousness.
This was both a competitive and frustrating fight, as both men made some question in-fight decisions. At the same time, they also showed a lot of heart and maintained a high pace. There was no quit in either fighter, but at the end of the day, Duncan engaged his foe on the canvas one time too many.
