The Yankees make their way to Chicago to face the White Sox as they desperately try to cling to a potential Wild Card spot. The Yankees are third in a close division, with the Blue Jays and Red Sox. The White Sox just lost a series to the Royals after being pummeled on Wednesday evening.
After the bullpen imploded multiple nights in a row, the White Sox made a move ahead of the series … bringing Cam Booser back.
Davis Martin (5-9) will be on the mound tonight. Martin has been able to piece together a few quality starts and has bumped his ERA down to 3.93 with 80 strikeouts. Kyle Teel will be behind the plate with Edgar Quero DH’ing tonight. Colson Montgomery is not in the lineup tonight, and there hasn’t been an update on his soreness.
Will Warren will be the starter for the Yankees. Warren (7-6) took the loss in Saturday’s 12-1 final at the hands of the Red Sox, coughing up five runs on seven hits and three walks over four innings. His ERA sits at 4.47. The White Sox will face power hitters such as Aaron Judge, but also players like Anthony Volpe have been struggling quite a bit lately.
First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. CT. You can watch the game on CHSN or listen on ESPN Chicago 1000.
