Iowa State linebacker Keian Kaiser has decommitted from Iowa State as of Monday:
Several Iowa State players and recruits have already decided to follow Matt Campbell to Penn State. Kaiser could be the next one, especially with Penn State’s thinned out depth at linebacker in 2025.
Iowa State Defensive Lineman Enters Portal
Iowa State defensive lineman Markell Chapman announced his plans to enter the transfer portal:
Penn State has had success with former JUCO players on defense, most notably safety tandem Jaquan Brisker and Ji’Ayir Brown. Chapman will be another name to watch as Penn State builds its 2026 roster.
Layton Von Brandt Re-offered By Penn State
Former Penn State commit Layton Von Brandt received an offer from Matt Campbell to rejoin the Nittany Lions’ 2027 recruiting class:
Von Brandt decommitted from Penn State on October 12, the same day James Franklin was fired. He is currently predicted to commit to Notre Dame, but he could easily re-commit to Penn State as well. Matt Campbell is already working to keep the recruiting pipelines that James Franklin started.

Clearly, Penn State has tough competition for Pace, but the DeMatha standout still has a solid chance of choosing the Nittany Lions.
Four-Star Offensive Lineman Receives Offer
Four-star 2027 interior offensive lineman and former Iowa State commit Will Slagle has received an offer from Penn State:
Penn State has supplanted Iowa State as the predicted landing spot for Slagle after he decommitted last week. The 2026 class will be a hodgepodge of transfers and last-minute recruits, but momentum is moving in the right direction for the 2027 class this week.
