Jaron Ennis made his super welterweight debut in his home state of Pennsylvania last night (Sat., Oct. 11, 2025) inside the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia against Uisma Lima for his IBO division title.
And “Boots” did not disappoint the hometown crowd.
Indeed, Ennis made quick work of Lima, stopping him in the very first round. There wasn’t much action to speak of since “Boots” sent his foe home early thanks to a couple of well-put together combos, so take a look at the stoppage in the embedded
video above, and one of his first-round knockdowns below.
With the win, Ennis improves his professional record to 35-0-1, while Lima drops to 14-2. After the win, “Boots” called for a much-desired showdown against Vergil Ortiz Jr., who is the current WBC interim super welterweight title holder. If that fight doesn’t come to fruition next, Ennis also called out the entire 154-pound weight class.
