In today’s Dub Hub:
- Seth Curry returns after three months, scores 13 points in Warriors’ 119-116 loss vs. Jazz
- Steve Kerr advocates for the NBA schedule to have 10 less games.
- Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hits clutch three for 129-126 victory over the Nuggets.
The Golden State Warriors let a winnable game slip away Monday night, losing to the Utah Jazz 119–116. Still, the night offered one encouraging development: the return of Seth Curry.
The veteran guard rejoined the Warriors’ rotation for the first time in more than three months after recovering from left sciatic nerve irritation. Curry made an immediate impact, scoring 13 points in just 12 minutes while shooting 4-of-6 from the field. His first basket came on a wide-open corner three that quickly reminded
everyone what his shooting can bring to Golden State’s offense.
After the game, Curry said it “felt great” to finally be back on the floor with his teammates while detailing the long recovery process.
Golden State is still navigating injuries across the roster, including uncertainty surrounding the return of Seth’s older brother, Stephen Curry. Until then, the Warriors will continue relying on their depth — and if Monday’s performance was any indication, Curry’s shooting and veteran presence could provide a timely boost moving forward.

Seth Curry’s return boosts the Warriors, but not enough to handle the Jazz | The Athletic
“There was like a month where I really couldn’t move,” said Curry, who added that he’d started to make a turn in his recovery around the All Star break. “I was just laying at home. And then once the pain went away I was able to rehab and try to get all my movement back, but it’s been tough … I just had a minor pain in my back, it got worse, worse, and then it just hit its tipping point.”

But the offense sabotaged what should have been a double-digit victory. The Warriors took 12 fewer shots in the paint (40) than beyond the arc but found eight more buckets. They too often fell into the habit of jacking up 3-pointers despite countless possessions in which ball movement led to layups.
There was one third-quarter possession that should have sent a memo to the entire roster. They missed three consecutive 3-point attempts, grabbing the rebound each time, before Nate Williams put an end to the madness with, of course, a layup.

NBA cancels Atlanta Hawks’ planned Magic City tribute night | ESPN
“When we became aware of the Atlanta Hawks’ scheduled promotion, we reached out to Hawks leadership to better understand their plans and rationale,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement. “While we appreciate the team’s perspective and their desire to move forward, we have heard significant concerns from a broad array of league stakeholders, including fans, partners and employees.
“I believe canceling this promotion is the right decision for the broader NBA community.”

Warriors drop to ninth seed after loss to Jazz and Clippers’ win over Knicks
A loss to the actively tanking Utah Jazz is bad news for the Golden State Warriors for several reasons.
The first reason is obvious: the Jazz have been intentionally trying to lose in an effort to land a high lottery pick, in an upcoming draft class that stands to be packed with blue-chip prospects. The Warriors, however, did a better job of playing losing basketball themselves, in a game that saw them attempt an astounding 52 threes while making only 16 of them (30.8 percent).
