Jamal Musiala hasn’t played a game of football since the 6-1 win over Atalanta in the Champions League, having aggravated something and is currently serving time while he recovers from it.
The 23-year-old is currently suffering from tendon pain in his ankle, the tendon that was severely damaged during his serious injury last summer, as reported by Philipp Kessler and Vinzent Tschirpke from Tz (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). Tendons typically take longer to heal than muscles, something that Bayern’s
club doctors supposedly predicted these minor issues weeks ago, which was expected because of the increased workload on his road back to fitness.
That said, Musiala is growing increasingly impatient, and the doctors had to slow him down. Everyone is aware that this current phase is the last chance for him to fully recover before the crucial part of the season and the World Cup in the summer. That’s why it was decided that he would skip Germany’s upcoming games.
Rumors here and there say that Musiala is doing everything he can to safely feature in the first leg against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals. With a squad full of versatile players, the impact of Musiala’s absence has been somewhat curtailed. Nevertheless, fans of both Bayern and Germany want to see him back at his best real soon.
