The NCAA tournament brackets were revealed Sunday evening, and after both Florida and Michigan lost in their respective conference tournaments, the choice for the #1 seed came down to Duke and Arizona. And since Duke had it coming in to the weekend, and won the ACC Tournament without two of its normal starters, guess what: they still have it, and the #1 seed in the East and overall.
The Blue Devils will open against #16 Siena, coached by former Syracuse star Jerry McNamara.
The other teams in Duke’s
pod are #8 Ohio State and #9 TCU.
St. John’s gets the #5 seed and will open against #12 Northern Iowa.
Kansas gets #4 and will play #13 Cal Baptist.
Louisville is #6 and opens against #11 South Florida.
Michigan State is #3 and draws #14 North Dakota State Bison.
UCLA is #7 draws Johnny Dawkins’ UCF
The #2 seed in the East will be Danny Hurley’s UConn, and the Huskies open with #16 Furman.
We’ll be updating as the show continues.
