We now know when the Buffalo Bills will be taking the field for training camp at the lush St. John Fisher University campus in Pittsford this summer.
On Tuesday morning, the team announced dates for seven practices in the Rochester suburb:
Wednesday, July 29 — 8:30 a.m.
Thursday, July 30 — 8:30 a.m.
Saturday, Aug. 1 — 8:30 a.m.
Monday, Aug. 3 — 8:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 4 — 8:30 a.m.
Thursday, Aug. 6 — 8:30 a.m.
Friday, Aug. 7 — 8:30 a.m.
When it comes to obtaining tickets, the team included this on their
website:
“Due to the limited capacity at St. John Fisher, there will be a Training Camp Public Practice Lottery. Fans can request a maximum of four (4) tickets. Entering the lottery does not guarantee tickets to the general public practices as ticket availability is limited.”
“An exclusive Season Ticket Member Training Camp Ticket presale will take place on June 24 at 10 a.m.”
This represents the shortest period of time the Bills have spent at SJFU since they began making the eastward trek each summer in 2000. I don’t necessarily believe it’s an automatic indication the team plans to stay home for camp in the near future.
With the late Labor Day this year, everything is late on the NFL calendar.
The Bills are currently in a six-week layoff until they need to report to camp, when this break is usually about five weeks.
Here is the media availability for training camp this summer:
After the Bills are done at St. John Fisher University, they’ll return to Orchard Park for the “Return of Red & Blue” practice and scrimmage on Saturday, August 8. It will be be the first full-scale event with fans at the new Highmark Stadium.
