The Atlanta Braves road slate for 2025 comes to an end this weekend as the team rolls into Michigan to face the American League Central division leading Detroit Tigers.
Winning proved fun for everyone in Braves country when the Braves broke a five-series losing streak by sweeping all four games against the Washington Nationals. Atlanta will face a different caliber team in Detroit, going from one of the worst teams in baseball to one of the best, as they try to extend their five-game winning streak.
The Tigers pitching staff led by reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal, who is coming off a bit of a scare when leaving his last start early, and closer Will Vest. The offensive is powered by Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson with a solid supporting cast. As a team, they had six representatives in the 2025 All-Star Game – four position players and two pitchers.
Detroit has the second-best record in the American League but is fighting for playoff positioning making these an important series for them. The 70-win Braves haven’t yet officially been eliminated from the playoffs, but it would take a miracle for that to occur.
Atlanta will come home for the final six games of the season after wrapping-up with the Tigers on Sunday.
