On Thursday — Thanksgiving Day — the Kansas City Chiefs (6-5) will go on the road to play the Dallas Cowboys (5-5-1) in a Week 13 matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Arrowhead Time on CBS — locally on KCTV/5.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Kansas City has opened as a 3.5 point favorite in the game.
In Week 12, the Chiefs opened as 3.5-point favorites against the Indianapolis Colts, ultimately winning that game 23-20 in overtime. The Cowboys are coming off a 24-21 win over the defending Super
Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
As the holiday season gets underway, the Chiefs are unfamiliar with their place in the AFC standings. Their home overtime victory over the Colts was essentially a must-win in order for Kansas City to remain alive in the playoff race. In Sunday’s matchup, the Chiefs displayed many of the flaws that have plagued them throughout the 2025 season — but they also showed grit and determination, erasing an 11-point 4th quarter deficit in their comeback win.
Against the Colts’ offense — ranked No. 1 in the league — the defense had its most impressive showing of the season, preventing a first down in the last four Indianapolis possessions.
The Cowboys — who will be hosting their annual Thanksgiving showdown — are coming off a comeback victory of their own, overcoming a 21-0 deficit against their NFC East rival to keep their own postseason hopes alive. The Kansas City defense will face another test against the Dallas offense, which ranks third in yards per game — while the Chiefs’ offense should have opportunities against the Cowboys’ defense, which ranks 29th in yards allowed per game.
A nationally-televised matchup on a national holiday, the game should draw one of the season’s largest television audiences, as both teams fight to remain in the playoff race after a short week.
