The temperatures are cooling and the leaves turning, but the optimism and hope for fans of the Seattle Seahawks are starting to elevate on the heels of a solid 3-1 record to start the season.
The September
performance for the Seattle put the team in a position where it entered Week 5 in a tie for first place atop the NFC West, though that tie was broken when the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Los Angeles Rams, putting the Niners all alone atop the division. When the Seahawks face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at Lumen Field, they will have an opportunity to pull back into a tie, and with a pair of key defensive players injured, the Hawks turned to the practice squad Saturday for some extra depth by elevating Brandon Pili and Jerrick Reed.
Pili provides another big body up front, while Demarcus Lawrence’s availability is in question due to an injury suffered in Week 4, while Reed can support a secondary that will be without both Julian Love and Devon Witherspoon.
