oof…
Here are the ratings from Manchester United’s 1-0 loss against Everton:
Starters
Senne Lammens – 4
Could’ve got a stronger hand on the goal. It was a good shot but quite central. Played one poor pass
as well, but wasn’t punished.
Noussair Mazraoui – 4
Strange selection to begin with. It’s obvious that the manager had Jack Grealish in mind, but no combination besides the one with Amad works reasonably on that flank.
Leny Yoro – 4
Poor on the goal and seemed to always be too far ahead of or behind the ball whenever Everton cleared it.
Matthijs De Ligt – 6
Was decent among a poor lot today.
Luke Shaw – 6
Didn’t have a lot to do and offered more of a threat on that flank on the odd occasion when he was high and wide.
Patrick Dorgu – 4
Another subpar display.
Casemiro – 5
Sloppy for the most part.
Bruno Fernandes – 6
Ran the second half, but couldn’t find a solution.
Amad Diallo – 6
Was a threat for most of the game, but the end product wasn’t there.
Bryan Mbeumo – 4
Usually quite strong at home, but offered little to no threat today.
Joshua Zirkzee – 5
When his touches were good, his passes weren’t. Had some chances towards the end, and was a little unfortunate not to get the equalizer with the first headed chance. Having said that, seems a limited player in the grand scheme of things.
Subs
Mason Mount – 5
Got into some good areas, but a little tame in the box.
Kobbie Mainoo – 5
Created one decent chance. Was steady but not much else.
Diogo Dalot – 4
Didn’t make an impact.
Manager
Ruben Amorim – 3
Another strange XI to start with. He hasn’t helped himself in the last two weeks. The team didn’t get going at all today. Despite the warning signs and the good fortune of playing against 10 men, he didn’t switch things up and was punished with the goal in a very poor first half. The second half showed the lack of top quality across the board. For the time being, he shouldn’t play his left-footed players in the inside left areas or play fullbacks at right wing-back. He should also consider playing Shaw on the flank since Martinez has returned from injury.
