The Dallas Mavericks (12-21) visit the Portland Trailblazers (13-19) to play their final game in the year 2025. Dallas last played the Sacramento Kings and lost after getting off to a horrible start. Portland played and beat the Boston Celtics last night. Here are the main things you need to know about this annoyingly late game.
Heres the main things you need to know before tipoff.
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Portland Trailblazers
- WHAT: The final basketball game of the 2025 year for Dallas
- WHERE: Moda Center, Portland, Oregon
- WHEN: 9:30 p.m. CST
- HOW: NBC/Peacock
On the injury front the Mavericks are in the expected position. As of this writing, Anthony Davis is still questionable
with his adductor injury, and I really have no idea if he’ll play. Brandon Williams was upgraded to probable after shoot around today, so expect to see him in uniform. The three usual guys: Kyrie Irving, Dereck Lively, and Dante Exum are all out. Portland has a lengthy injury report at the moment. Listed as out for one reason or another: Jeremi Grant, Scoot Henderson, Jrue Holiday, Dame Lilliard, Matisse Thybulle, and Blake Wesley. Robert Williams and Kris Murray are questionable. I bet Williams, at least, plays.

Portland is a 2.5 point favorite which feels right. They’re at home, but they are playing on night two of a back-to-back. This isn’t going to be an easy game for either team and right not it feels like a true toss up. If either team gets hot from three or causes a flurry of turnovers, then that’s the team that’s going to win. These two teams stink as is.
Consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start LATE. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
