What is the story about?

The Las Vegas Raiders have begun the Klint Kubiak era 2-0. He is fifth coach in the franchise’s 25 non-interim head coaching tenures to win his first two games.

Let’s look at the others:

Al Davis, 1963:

The eventual Raiders’ Hall of Fame owner went 23-1603 as the team’s head coach from 1963-65. The Raiders went 10-4, but did not make the playoffs. Davis was the AFL Coach of the Year that season.

John Madden, 1969:

The Hall of Fame coach went 103-32-7 spanning 1969-78 and the Raiders won a Super Bowl during

that time. The Raiders went 12-1-1 in Madden’s first season and lost in the AFL championship game.

Mike White, 1995:

White went 15-17 spanning 1995-96 in Oakland. The Raiders went 8-8 in 1995.

Bill Callahan, 2002:

Callahan went 15-17 in two seasons with the Raiders. He inherited the best team of any of these coaches and the Raiders went to the Super Bowl in his first season.

Now, let’s see what Kubiak can do in his Silver and Black career. It’s certainly off to a strong start.
