Penn State picked up its second Iowa State transfer of the day with offensive lineman Will Tompkins making the call for the Nittany Lions earlier tonight:
Thomkins did not play in the 2025 season and will have four years of eligibility remaining. The Cedar Falls, Iowa native was a three-star recruit in the 2025 class. He was rated the No. 33 offensive lineman in the portal as of today, a solid ranking for a player who has not yet taken a snap at the NCAA level.
At
6-5, 300 pounds, Thompkins certainly has the frame to play offensive line in the Big Ten. Time will tell how quickly he works his way into the lineup after his redshirt season, but this is a great pickup for the future of Penn State’s offensive line.
Thomkins is the third offensive lineman to join the incoming 2026 class. We are just two full days into the official transfer portal window. There are expected to be many more Cyclones announcing a move to State College in the coming days.
