Leave it to the UEFA Nations League to get people riled up.
During the play leading up to Germany’s goal in a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands, Dutch attacker Brian Brobbey went down, which left his teammates feeling as if the Germans should have stopped the action.
They did not.
Ultimately, the end of the play resulted in a goal and a 1-0 lead for Germany despite the protests of the Dutchmen. Afterwards, Denzel Dumfries criticized Joshua Kimmich for not killing the play by kicking it out.

[Editor’s Note: Dumfries referenced Nadiem Amiri, who was playing as the attacking midfielder. It is unclear if he meant Amiri or left win Kevin Schade] looked at me as if he was going to stop. He played the ball to Kimmich. We know Kimmich. World-class player, but we know his antics. He played on and they scored. That shouldn’t happen to us, we probably should be doing those things too. But I did go over to confront him, yes. Absolutely. In the end, you still have the feeling that it wasn’t quite right,” Dumfries said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Should the old adage of play to the whistle apply here or should Germany have kicked the ball out because Brobbey was down?
