The Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Maryland Terrapins on Wednesday in their second-to-last regular-season game before the Big Ten Tournament starts up.
Wisconsin, standing at 20-9 on the season and 12-6 in Big Ten play, is currently sixth in the Big Ten standings with just two games to go, so a top-four seed seems out of the picture barring a poor finish from another top team.
After their road loss to the Oregon Ducks last week, the Badgers had a strong showing against the Washington Huskies on Saturday
to bounce back, thanks to nine threes and 32 points from Braeden Carrington off the bench. Wisconsin hit 17 threes in the win, as they dominated from the jump and never let go of the lead.
Now, they face a Maryland team that has the third-worst Big Ten record this year at 4-14, while their overall record stands at 11-18. The Terrapins have lost four of their last five games, and have dealt with some injuries this year that derailed the start of the Buzz Williams era.
Maryland’s offense is among the worst in the Big Ten, averaging less than 71 points a game, while its defense allows 77.1 points a contest.
