Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland left today’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with two outs in the top of the fourth inning.
Freeland threw 66 pitches, 43 for strikes while allowing four runs (all earned) on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts. Three of the four runs came on two homers — a solo shot by Mookie Betts and a two-run homer by Kiké Hernández.
Recently-recalled Mark Manfredi entered in relief to make his MLB debut against Shohei Ohtani. He walked the Dodgers’ DH
and gave up a single to Andy Pages, but got Teoscar Hernández to fly out and end the inning.
The reasons for Freeland leaving the game are not known at this time, but Purple Row will continue to follow this developing story.
