A quote that confirms what we already know by saying part of the quiet part out loud. That’s my take on this quote from former WWE and AEW star John Morrison, aka Johnny Nitro, Johnny Elite, Johnny Impact, etc.
Morrison just recently became the inaugural World champion for Pro Wrestling Revolution, at that Indian promotion’s first-ever arena show in New Dehli.
Which led to a conversation with SportsKeeda Wrestling
about, what else, his time working for the two biggest wrestling companies in the world.
Headline aside, the first quote from Morrison is actually comparing WWE under Vince McMahon as CEO and booker with WWE under TKO’s ownership and with Triple H in charge of creative. Morrison hasn’t worked at WWE under TKO and Haitch, but he’s good friends with people like The Miz and Matt Cardona, who have:
“One difference between the two I see is Vince had no checks and balances. If he wanted, i don’t know an 18 wheeler full of milk with a pump that you’d use to spray, he could get it like that. Triple H right now doesn’t have that since he’s under the TKO umbrella. He can’t just decide I want to spend a hundred thousand dollars on a truck right now.”
The quote in the headline was obviously about comparing AEW’s president and booker Tony Khan to Vince McMahon:
“As far as Tony Khan goes, you know I would compare Tony to Vince a lot, like Tony Khan probably could have done anything he wanted, anything, you know? That’s the freedom you get with that amount of money, but he’s a wrestling fan and decided he wanted to work in the business of professional wrestling and he also decided he wanted to work really hard because he does work really hard. He’s at all the tapings, and I sometimes think he’s a lot like Vince except with a good heart, if you know what I mean.”
