The Cleveland Browns have received a lot of grief over the years about the state of their quarterback room.
That is to be expected when you trot out three, four, and sometimes five starting quarterbacks in a single season.
But the reality, as much as people don’t want to acknowledge it, is that the Browns are not the only NFL team with no clue about what to do with the game’s most important position.
It may not have been his intention, but our own Jared Mueller hit on that very point in his article
on Friday, looking at some of the teams the Browns will be in contention with for a high selection in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Start reading, and it is a who’s who of teams that are just as bad as the Browns when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks. There is no secret sauce to finding a quarterback, and anyone who tries to convince you that certain teams are better at it than others is generally delusional.
But even knowing that the Browns are not alone, it is still depressing to look at the current quarterback room and realize that Deshaun Watson is probably the best option to start, and it has been six years and two major injuries since his last good season.
Even with the improvements general manager Andrew Berry has made across the roster, the Browns arguably have the worst set of quarterbacks in the league, which does not bode well for improving on last year’s five-win season.
We’ll leave you with that thought for the moment and dive into today’s edition of the Saturday Dawg Chow.
