It’s Sunday, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! The final week of the year is a time for rest, relaxation, and not knowing what day or time it is. How did the Yankees
spend their week where time stands still? Let’s find out!
Auld Lang Syne
Where else do we start the first social media roundup of 2026 than with a celebration of the new year? In addition to well-wishes from the Yankees’ official account, we have a reflection on what was a difficult 2025 from Oswaldo Cabrera, an 18-person dinner party from the Coles, a happy new year from the Bellingers as they ponder their next move, and well-wishes from the first of the Baby Bombers.
Big G on Tujunga
Last week, we talked about Giancarlo Stanton’s return home to Tujunga, California, where he hosted a Little League event. Well, this week, the big guy took to social media for just the second time in a year and a half to talk about the experience.
Broadway Goes Bananas
Derek Klena has been performing on Broadway for more than a decade now, performing as Fiyero in Wicked, Dmitry in Anastasia, and as Christian in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, among others. Ok, this is not, strictly speaking, Yankees-related, but A) the video does use Yankee Stadium and B) I like Broadway, so I’m going to stretch the rules and say that it counts.
Welcome to New York
Sometime last week, the Yankees made a relatively small move, signing Mexican League MVP Nick Torres to a minor league deal. But what is on a grand scheme a minor move meant to add a bit of depth, can mean a whole lot more for the people involved — and there is perhaps no better example of this than his wife’s reaction to the news:
Old Friends
To wrap up this week, we’ve got photo dumps from Anthony Rizzo and CC Sabathia.
