Bayern Munich quickly rebuilt itself into one of the most feared teams in Europe, which was in no small part thanks to Vincent Kompany. The Belgian coach knows that the club can’t settle for less, which is why he wants his team to be one step ahead of the competition.
“Our competitors in Europe and in Germany are all hungry. Many of them haven’t won anything last season. So we have to match their hunger,” Kompany said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “We can’t afford any kind of arrogance.
What happened last season is no longer important. We start all over again.”
As far as the Bundesliga is concerned, the Rekordmeister is most likely to win it again. In terms of European rivals, that’s where it gets feisty. Most of the top clubs are signing reinforcements, player and coach alike, in the hopes of winning their domestic league and the Champions League.
