Alex Pereira isn’t fighting at UFC 329, but it was nevertheless a fruitful weigh-in day for the Brazilian legend.
On Friday, “Poatan” attended the spectacle event that is a Conor McGregor ceremonial weigh-ins, and the crowd was extra lively for the Irishman’s long-awaited return. While there, Pereira ran into Jon Jones — who is in town to corner his protege, Gable Steveson — and the duo settled their short-lived feud over Jones’ braggadocios post following Pereira’s controversial loss to Ciryl Gane
(highlights here).
In addition, Pereira also crossed paths with McGregor, one half of UFC 329’s main event. The Mac was in high spirits ahead of his clash tomorrow versus Max Holloway, taking the time to chat with “Poatan” about his career and aforementioned “controversial” loss to “Bon Gamin.”
“Strong boys!” McGregor said to Pereira and his coach, Plinio Cruz. “Good blood! Champion blood! I feel very good, ready for a good fight. You’re doing great brother, keep going. Unlucky last time, back of the head, I see it. But, let it go. Let it go!”
The two then posed for a picture.
Fair or not, McGregor is not the first person to advise Pereira to move on from the Gane defeat. Fortunately, after some online campaigning and social media skits regarding the incident, “Poatan” seems ready to bounce back. Earlier this week, he confirmed his intent to return in November at Heavyweight, so Pereira fully intends to return to the win column before the end of 2026.
Maybe Josh Hokit is available?
