Mikel Oyarzabal has been quizzed on his future once again at World Cup 2026 and spoke again about his happiness at Real Sociedad.
There have been whispers that Oyarzabal is a potential Plan B for Barcelona if the Catalans fail to land Julian Alvarez in the summer transfer window.
The Spain star admits that “you never know” what might happen in football but once again spoke about how he feels completely at home with La Real.
“In football you never know what can happen, just like in life. But I’ve always
said that San Sebastián is my home, I feel as if I’ve lived there all my life and I couldn’t ask for more,” he told Carrusel Deportivo.
“I’ve always felt very loved and valued by my club during my time there, which is most of the year. Every time I come to the national team, the same thing happens, both from the coach and my teammates. Also from everyone at Real Sociedad. I feel very loved, valued, and respected. And that’s what I take away from it.”
Oyarzabal is currently with Spain preparing to face Portugal in the last 16 of World Cup 2026. The striker has four goals so far in the tournament and will be aiming to add to that tally on Monday in Dallas.
