College Performance: Blake Miller was an exciting prospect arriving at Clemson, but given the Tigers past history with “Can’t Miss’ OL prospects, it was hard to get too excited. The assumption by a lot of us was that Miller would fizzle like others. For a variety of reasons the Tigers just never manage to get the most out of the OL. Thankfully Miller dispelled that. The former
high school wrestler started 54 games across 4 season at Clemson. As surefire of a starter on a Clemson OL that could best be described as ”leaky”. Miller’s athleticism really stands out when you look back at his play for Clemson.
NFL Projections: Most mock drafts and reports see Miller as a mid-late first round guy, which makes sense. It would also help break Clemson’s duck of not having a offensive lineman drafted in the first round in years. Miller has all the athleticism in the world to play tackle, however he was inconsistent in his technique. In college Miller could often cover for it with his athleticism, that won’t be the case in the NFL. Depending on which report you read, Miller is either a sure fire All Pro or someone that will get found out in a few years. Like so many players, Miller’s success will probably depend on where he ends up. A team like the Lions or the Eagles could be a perfect landing spot for Miller.
