Barcelona and Manchester City remain engaged in talks for the transfer of Spain captain Rodri, and the Catalans have in recent hours made a new and improved offer.
After their initial €45 million bid was rejected over the weekend, the Catalans have sent a second bid worth €60 million plus add-ons which Barça believe will be enough to close the deal, according to reports in England.
Talks have progressed well in recent days and Barça remain focused on reaching an agreement this week so Rodri can join
training as soon as possible, and their second bid including bonuses bridges the gap between Barça’s initial €45 million valuation and City’s €80 million asking price.
Barça fans are (understandably) getting a little nervous as they remember a few high-profile transfer pursuits that didn’t get over the line in the past, but there is serious optimism this will get done soon.
