In case you don’t have the holiday spirit yourself, we got a reminder that its that time of year when WWE taped part of next week’s SmackDown before Raw last night (Dec. 15). They’ll film next week’s Raw with Friday’s SmackDown, as the company gives the main roster next week off.
The folks in NXT are getting two weeks off at the end of the year, at least from producing television. Word is the brand will tape its Dec. 23 and 30 episodes tomorrow night (Dec. 17), meaning tonight’s episode is the last
live one of the year — and the last before Jan. 6’s New Year’s Evil special edition, which will feature NXT Women’s champ Jacy Jayne defending against Iron Survivor (and Evolve Women’s champion) Kendal Grey, and more.
Jayne is one of the nominees for Female Superstar of the Year in NXT’s Year-End Awards. As has been the case the past couple years, the holiday schedule means NXT’s Annual Awards will be handed out on a pre-taped show. WWE announced the categories and nominees for those today, and opening the voting on their website here.
