Andrija Jelavic will not be returning to Kentucky Basketball, instead opting to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday, according to Jonathan Givony.
When Jelavic first entered the portal earlier this week, the belief was he’d still consider returning to Kentucky once he saw what he could get on the open market. But whether Kentucky wasn’t willing to offer what Ohio State was, or he was just ready for a change of scenery, the Wildcats won’t have the Croatian big man when the 2026-27 season tips
off.
The 6-11, 225-pound forward averaged 5.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game this season on 48% shooting while hitting 27.6% of his 3-pointers and 53.3% of his free throws. He played professionally before arriving in Lexington and was ruled to be a sophomore by the NCAA last season, meaning he’ll have two seasons of eligibility remaining with the Buckeyes, though it could rise to three if the NCAA’s 5-for-5 proposal passes.
Best of luck to Jelly as he looks to continue his basketball career in the Big Ten!
