The Colorado Rockies were expected to announce early this week their decision on their new head of baseball operations. Whether they would have the title of president of baseball operations or general
manager has yet to be determined. Two candidates who had interviewed for the position last week were Matt Forman, Cleveland Guardians executive vice president and assistant general manager, and Amiel Sawdaye, Arizona Diamondbacks senior vice president/assistant general manager.

Later, Patrick Saunders followed up by posting the following:
To be clear, this reporting does not indicate that Forman and Sawdaye are no longer under consideration; however, it suggests neither candidate is the Rockies’ primary choice at this time.
Given that the offseason begins today, there are questions as to the lack of urgency on the part of the Rockies. Former general manager Bill Schmidt tendered his resignation on October 1.
