New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, the NFC Offensive Player of the Month, missed practice on Thirsday with a knee issue. Running back Cam Skattebo missed his third straight practice on Thursday, increasing the likelihood that Skattebo will miss Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a hamstring injury.
Nabers missed most of the 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL. Nabers told media after practice that he would “be good” for Sunday.
You have to believe this is a game Skattebo
would very much like to play in. The Giants will be at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, the place where Skattebo suffered his season-ending ankle injury in 2025. Getting that opportunity might not, though, be in the cards for Skattebo.
If Skattebo can’t play, Devin Singletary and Gregory Desrosiers are on the 53-man roster, and Phil Mafah and Eric Gray on the practice squad.
“It’s going to be the utmost importance to keep the run game going,” offensive coordinator Matt Nagy said on Thursday. “You can’t be one dimensional and just be dropping back, throwing. You’ve got to be able to keep that run game going. So, no matter who’s back there with the carries, we’ve got to be efficient with the run game.”
Star edge defender Abdul Carter returned to practice after sitting out Monday and Wednesday due to an illness.
Charlie Jones, the Giants’ primary kickoff and punt returner as well as being a backup wide receiver, practiced on a limited basis with a hand injury. That is concerning for a player who has to catch and protect the ball.
