Good morning, baseball fans!
Also, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
The San Francisco Giants do not play today, so instead I thought we’d take another look at Sunday’s game. Spring Training games aren’t usually ones that stand out in the memory hole, but Sunday’s game is definitely going to be an outlier. Not only did the Giants defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-1, but they also managed to nearly pitch a combined perfect game, falling short by one out.
While Robbie Ray wasn’t the only memorable performance in
this game, he did go five perfect innings, striking out eight. We won’t officially be starting up Player of the Week until the season starts, but he’s going to be my player of the week anyway because that is exactly the kind of thing you want to be seeing from the front end of the rotation as we inch our way ever closer to the start of the season.
So lets take another look at the highlights from Sunday’s game and appreciate the fine work of Ray, Carson Seymour, Tristan Beck, and Matt Gage (and, you know, the offense too I guess.)
