Much has been made about Roman Reigns’ work schedule in recent weeks, with some of us observers more observant than others. However, nearly everyone, except Your Noble Scribe, overlooked that WWE’s real World Heavyweight Champion is going to work on his birthday.
That’s right, rather than blowing out candles, Reigns will (hopefully) be blowing up Jacob Fatu with spears and Superman punches next Monday on Raw as the OTC turns 41. It’s an especially noteworthy occasion as it’s part of our champ’s post-WrestleMania
promise to show up more often.
According to Cagematch, Reigns appeared live on Raw on his special day in 2015. That night, he teamed with Dean Ambrose to defeat Kane and Seth Rollins.
This year, he’ll likely come face-to-face with Fatu for the final time as they prepare for Tribal Combat at Clash In Italy six nights later. According to my Magic 8 Ball, Reigns isn’t favored to win in Turin.
The result could change, though, should the Tribal Chief use his birthday wish on a favorable booking decision.
Next Monday’s Raw takes place in Columbus, Ohio, the hometown of WWE icon Frank Williams. Besides chants of OTC and hymns of “Roman, Roman Reigns,” don’t be surprised if the Buckeye faithful sing “Happy Birthday” to the most preeminent performer in sports entertainment history.
