Lamine Yamal has reportedly emerged as a doubt for Barcelona’s next game against Sevilla in La Liga.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the teenager is still struggling with the groin issue that ruled him out
for several matches after the last international break.
The report states he is “experiencing significant discomfort” in the same area again and is a doubt for Sunday’s match.
The update comes just hours after Yamal was named in the next Spain squad for World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria.
There had been talk that Barcelona didn’t want Yamal called up by Luis de la Fuente as they were hoping he could get a rest and really shake off his current injury issue.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens next and whether he is named in Hansi Flick’s squad for the game against Sevilla.
If he does miss out then it seems likely he won’t play for Spain either over the break.
