“I think that’s every English boy’s dream to play for the national team. There is a lot of competition and I’m not naive to say I should be in the team but, at the same time, I do think I’ve had a good start to the season and, ultimately, that’s my goal for this season – to get there or thereabouts with the England squad. I think being able to play different positions definitely helps me. I am very versatile, I can play pretty much any position on the pitch. I think I’ve played every position apart from striker and centre-back for Everton! For me, it’s about playing well consistently, winning games and showing that I’m a winner and a good player,” says James Garner. [EFC]
