The Arizona Cardinals must be officially a passing offense. Last weekend, QB Jacobi Brissett broke the NFL record for the most pass completions in a regular-season game, and then tossed for 457 yards.
This group has been backed into a corner to become one-dimensional because their running backs keep getting injured.

Now comes word that Emari Demercado has a high ankle sprain and won’t play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In the second quarter at the 10:09 mark against the San Francisco 49ers on a first-and-10, Demercado went up the middle and was tag-teamed by S Ji’Ayir Brown and MLB Tatum Bethune. The Cardinals were now at the Niners’ 24-yard line as Demercado had to be helped off the field. Later, he was ruled out.
For the game, Demercado had just eight yards on five attempts. The entire Arizona offense only had 36 yards on 14 carries. Bam Knight then had to take over the starting RB role.
Injured Trey Benson may be activated from IR this week. If not, the offense’s rushing roles will be placed on the shoulders of Knight and Michael Carter. RB Jermar Jefferson is currently listed on the practice squad.
For the season, Demercado has 241 rushing yards on 31 attempts.
Arizona (3-7-0) squares off with Jacksonville (6-4-0) in a home game with a kickoff in the afternoon slot covered by the CBS Network.
Earlier this year, both starter James Conner and his backup, Benson, were injured. Conner is currently on IR for the remainder of the season.
