Barcelona are stepping up the hunt for a successor to Robert Lewandowski who is out of contract at the Camp Nou in the summer.
A new report from ESPN states that Barcelona are planning for life without their veteran striker even though a final decision has not yet been made on his future.
With that in mind, Barcelona have two names in the frame to take over from Lewandowski – Julian Alvarez and Dusan Vlahovic
.We’ve heard both names before but ESPN say that Joan Laporta is “still dreaming” of signing
Alvarez even though he would likely cost over 100 million euros.
The report quotes a club source as refusing to rule out a move for Alvarez, despite his lofty price and the fact Arsenal are also thought to be keen, saying “a lot of things could happen, but we’re attentive to the situation.”
However, Deco is said to be looking at cheaper options and has come up with Vlahovic. The Juventus star has been linked with Barca many times before but is out of contract in the summer and available on a free transfer.
