The Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich transfer saga is one that lasted quite a long time, with the club going back and forth with Bayer Leverkusen and the media having even more fun. It ended in early June when Tah finally put ink on paper and signed for Bayern Munich on a 4-year contract.
Three months later, Leverkusen CEO had a few words to say regarding that transfer and the player in particular. Speaking with Bild in a live interview (captured by @iMiaSanMia), CEO Fernando Carro gave a little insight
on Tah’s desire to move out of the club.
“Jonathan Tah almost always wanted to leave in the past few years, but decided to stay. Now his contract has expired. He actually wanted to go to Spain, but then went to Munich,” said Carro about Tah’s transfer. Hearing this, fans now know that there was a real chance that Tah didn’t come to Bayern and instead flew to play in La Liga. Whether or not the move was good for the German international is a different question altogether.
As Bayer Leverkusen climbs through the struggle following the sacking of Erik Ten Hag, they will most definitely be missing a player of Jonathan Tah’s quality.
Bayern Munich is entering a rugged part of its schedule and the bizz surrounding the team should spike in the coming days. Let’s talk about where everything stands after a great weekend in the Bundesliga and ahead of key match against Chelsea in the Champions League:
- It was a good weekend for Bayern Munich as the Bavarians dominated Hamburger SV. What good can we take out of that ahead of a very important showdown against Chelsea in the Champions League.
- Thomas Müller dropped a hat trick on the Philadelphia Union…on his birthday. Let’s discuss…
- Should fans be concerned about all of the noise surrounding Michael Olise? With Liverpool and Manchester City (plus maybe Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona, too) all reportedly interested, things look a little dicey.
