The 2026 season has come to its conclusion, and with it, the chaos that is the NCAA transfer portal has officially opened. While teams navigate the Mountain West-Pac-12 split, I will be keeping track of who teams lose and gain through the portal window. Outlook: UNLV added their first pitcher from the portal last week, signing a talented Texan who never quite found herself in the ACC. Sydney Jackson has spent the last two years in upstate New York, tallying a lackluster 8.01 ERA in her 46.1 innings in the circle with the Orange. Her 40 strikeouts in that time are certainly promising, but she will undoubtedly have to improve on her 58 career walks in order to become an effective arm for the Rebels.

Outlook: Murietta, California native Taralyn Ollison became the fifth member of the 2026 UTEP transfer class last week, which is a very intriguing development for the Miners. Whereas each previous member is a freshman transfer that has done next to nothing collegiately, Ollison is an experienced outfielder with a track record of consistent production as a member of the Thunderbirds over each of the past three seasons. She is a career .304/.331/.363 slash hitter with 79 career singles and 33 RBIs. Ollison may not be flashy, but she is more than effective, as she proved last season by hitting .329 in her first season as a full-season starter. This is a great addition for UTEP this offseason, Ollison should do well in the 915 in 2027.
