After days of anticipation following the Sept. 1 recruiting cutoff, Maryland men’s lacrosse signed its first batch of recruits from the high school class of 2028; Noah Benney and CJ Saunders Jr. both committed Tuesday as reported by Inside Lacrosse.
Benny, a four-star goalkeeper from St. Paul’s School in Timonium, Maryland, possesses impressive size and defensive ability that is expected to translate well into Big Ten play when he steps on campus. The high school junior stands over six feet tall and touts impressive rebounding control and mobility in his bag of tricks.
Saunders, on the other hand, should provide the Terps with some welcome assistance from the SSDM slot. The four-star junior from Calvert Hall currently ranks as the 63rd ranked recruit in his class and exhibits the speed and dodge recognition necessary to succeed in SECU Stadium.
With just these two signings, Maryland currently holds the 14th best recruiting lineup for the class of 2028.
